SYSTEM 48 TECHNICAL ALERT
Under certain conditions (electrical noise, length or type of cable used) some
extension numbers can become corrupted in the system database. A station
number swapping condition can occur. This may affect one or more of the
following station (extension) numbers and associated card/station ports:

PCS Installation Recommendations and Precautions:
Plug the KSU AC power cord into a UPS using a dedicated
AC outlet.
The KSU must have access to a good earth ground, such as a cold water pipe
without non-metallic joints. The ground source should be as close as possible to
the system.
The station cable lengths should not exceed the following maximum specified
cable lengths for new UTP cables:
Digital Key Telephone:
Single Line Telephone:
26 AWG 850 ft.
26 AWG 650 ft.
24 AWG 1416 ft.
24 AWG 1133 ft.
22 AWG 1983 ft.
22 AWG 1586 ft.
Avoid running cable over florescent lights.
Install new RJ-11 jacks if any keyset(s) demonstrate erratic operation or
occasional resetting.
