1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY:
This
PATRIOT LIGHT®
brand light fixture carries a one (1) Year Limited
Warranty to the original purchaser. If, during normal use, this
PATRIOT
LIGHT®
light fixture fails die to a defect in material and workmanship
within one (1) year from the date of purchase, simply bring this light
fixture with your original sales receipt back to your nearest MENARDS
®
retail store. At its discretion,
PATRIOT LIGHT®
agrees to have the
lighting fixture replaced with the same or similar
PATRIOT LIGHT®
product
free of charge, within the stated warranty period, when returned
by the original purchaser with original sales receipt. Notwithstanding the
foregoing, this limited warranty does not cover damage or failure caused
by misuse or abuse including but not limited to improper installation,
accident, unauthorized repair, maintenance, or modifications of the
merchandise. This warranty: (1) excludes expendable parts including
but not limited to light bulbs batteries; (2) shall be void if this lighting
fixture is not installed in the U.S.A.; (3) does not cover products installed
within three miles of saltwater coastline or any area prone to salt spray;
and (4) does not cover any losses, labor, injuries to person/property or
costs. This warranty does give you the specific legal rights and you may
have other rights, which vary from state to state. Be careful, the
purchaser has sole responsibility for proper installation compliance with
all state and local code requirements. Seller's employees are not
qualified to advise you on the use of this Merchandise. Any oral
representation(s) made will not be binding on seller or its employees.
The rights under this limited warranty are to the original purchaser of the
Merchandise and may not be transferred to any subsequent owner. This
limited warranty is in lieu of all warranties, expressed or implied including
warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Seller
shall not be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages.
The sole exclusive remedy against the seller will be for the replacement
of any defects as provided herein, as long as the seller is willing or able
to replace this product or is willing to refund the purchase price as
provided above.

Installation Manual for Item # 343-1698
Please read this manual carefully and completely before
using your Solar Light.
Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
FEATURES

Automatic operation with sensor turning on the
light at night.

IMPORTANT
The battery should be fully charged before first use. Charge
under direct sunlight on a sunny day before first use.
Keep your solar lights away from other night-time light sources,
such as streetlights.
Make sure the solar panels are not covered by dust, snow and
debris. Clean it with a soft damp cloth or paper towel
periodically. Avoid the use of abrasive cleaning agents.
Use only solar rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries for your solar
lights. Replace a new battery of the same size each year for
optimum performance.
Attention: Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries
may explode or leak.
ASSEMBLY & OPERATION
Step 1:
Remove the solar housing (Fig. A-
1) from the bollard by turning in a counter
clockwise direction until it separates from
the main body of the light (Fig. A-2).
Step 2:
Place the switch in the ON position
under the solar housing (Fig. B-5).
Step 3:
Press ground spike into base of
light until secure (Fig. A-3).
REPLACING THE BATTERY
For best results the solar battery should
be replaced every 12 months.
Step 1:
Remove the solar housing (Fig. A-
1) from the bollard by turning in a counter
clockwise direction until it separates from
the main body of the light (Fig. A-2).
Step 2:
Place the switch in the OFF
position under the solar housing (Fig. B-5).
Step 3:
Using a screwdriver, carefully
remove the screws (2) from the battery
compartment cover (Fig. B-4).
Step 4:
Carefully lift the cover to access
the battery compartment; being sure not to
detach any of the connected wires.
Step 5:
Replace the battery with an
equivalent new solar rechargeable Ni-MH
1.2v AA 600 mAh battery; ensuring the
correct polarity is observed (Fig. C-6).
REPLACING THE BATTERY (CON’T)
Step 6:
Reassemble the unit by reversing the
above procedure.
Step 7:
Allow the unit to fully charge for up to
2 days in the OFF position. Once fully
charged return the switch to the ON position
and the light will come on automatically when
it becomes dark.
Caution: Solar rechargeable batteries contain
Nickel-Cadmium or Nickel-Metal Hydride and must be recycled or
disposed of properly. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix
alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.

Q: Light does not work.
A:
1. Make sure the switch is in the ON position.
2. Make sure the battery connection is tight.
3. Make sure the battery has been charged under direct sunlight.
4. Make sure your light is not placed near other night-time light
sources.
5. Battery may need to be replaced. Replace with a new solar
rechargeable battery of the same size.
Q: Short run time
A:
1. Battery may need to be replaced. Purchase a new solar
