Warm start:
1. Set the on/off switch (20) to position .
2. Leave the choke lever (4) in its present
position
.
3. Hold the device firmly with one hand
by the upper shaft tube (8). With the
other hand, pull the starter cable on the
starter handle (3) quickly several times
in succession until the engine starts.
Caution! Do not pull the starter
cable out too far - Danger of
breakage!
The device is now idling.
4. To switch off the engine, set the on/off
switch (20) to position
.
If the engine has not started after
two attempts, try a warm start wi-
thout the choke in the warm start po-
sition. If this is not successful, follow
the instructions in the „Troubleshoo-
ting“ section.
Operation
Working Notes
• When cutting, observe the country-
specific / local regulations.
• Do not cut during commonly applica-
ble quiet periods.
• Solid objects such as stones, metal
pieces or similar must be removed.
These can be thrown out and therefore
result in personal or property damage.
• When cutting in high bushes or
hedges, the working height should be
at least 15 cm. This prevents the risk to
animals, e.g. hedgehogs.
• Always hold the equipment firmly and
securely with both hands.
• Cut only grass and weeds. Be aware of
roots or tree stumps – risk of tripping.
• Work considerately and endanger nobody
Place the appliance on a solid and
even surface. Check that the blade
is not touching any objects or the
ground.

When using the spool:
Make sure that the protective cap on
the line cutter (
A
14) is removed.
When using the 3-/4-tooth blade:
Make sure that the protective cover ex-
tension ( 56) is removed.
Cold start:
2. Place the device on a firm level sur
-
face. Make sure that the cutting tool
does not touch either other objects or
the ground.
3. Set the on/off switch (20) to position .
4. Set the choke lever (4) to position
.
5. Press the fuel pump (primer) (

6 times.
6. Firmly hold the device with one hand on
the upper shaft tube (8). With the other
hand, pull the starter cable on the starter

until the motor starts.
Attention! Do not pull the starter
cable out too far - Danger of
breakage!
If the device does not start after
pulling the cable 3-4 times, set the
choke manually to position
.
7. Press the throttle lock (21) and then the
throttle lever (22) briefly to enable the
choke lever to move to position
. The
device begins idling.
Allow the device to warm up briefly.
8. To mow, keep the throttle lock (21)
pressed down and operate the throttle
lever (22).
9. To switch off the motor, set the on/off
switch (20) to position
.
