Ethernet/IP Overview
The PAC can be ordered with and optional Ethernet/IP option. With this option t he PAC can be configured
to act as a Scanner (PAC versions 1.3.0 or later) or as an Adapter that can produce (broadcast) tags that
can be consumed (received) by a Rockwell
To use the PAC as an Ethernet/IP Scanner, create a project using Parker Automation
Manager
1. Launch PAM.
2. Open a project or create a project using a PAC device.
3. Expand the Tools Menu in PAM.
a. Select Device Repository.
b. Click the Install... button.
c. Browse to the location of the Adapter EDS file on your computer.
d. Be sure the file type is EDS.
e. Click Open.
f. Click Close.
(You only have to do this step 1 time, the EDS file is saved in PAM.)
4. Right Click on the PAC Device in the Devices Tree.
5. Choose Add Device.
a. Expand Ethernet Adapter.
b. Choose Ethernet.
c. Click Add Device.
d. Click Close.
6. Right Click on the Ethernet object in Devices.
7. Choose Add Device.
a. Expand EtherNet/IP.
b. Choose EtherNet/IP Scanner.
c. Click Add Device.
d. Click Close.
8. Double Click on Ethernet_IP_Scanner in the Device Tree.
