If you are to inhale several medications one after the other in
one application, rinse out the nebuliser with tap water between
inhalations. Remove excess water by shaking the nebuliser
and then fill with medication as described.
3.3 Performing the inhalation
Before the patient starts inhaling, ensure that all parts are
firmly connected to each other.
Perform inhalation until the medication is used up (indicated by
a change in the sound of the nebuliser).
The nebuliser produces relatively large droplets, and
these can be deposited on the nebuliser wall. In order to
minimise loss of medication, tap the nebuliser lightly with
your finger a few times towards the end of the inhalation
session. The droplets will run back down into the nozzle
attachment, where they can be nebulised again.
It is normal for a few drops of medication to be left in the
nebuliser after the end of the inhalation session.
When using a PARI compressor:
• Connect the connection tubing to the compressor and
switch the compressor on.
When using with a PARI CENTRAL:
Prerequisite: A PARI CENTRAL must be connected to the wall
outlet fitting in the hospital.
• Insert the connection tubing into the PARI CENTRAL using
the adapter provided for this purpose. Twist slightly to make
the connection easier.
