Altitude Adjuster Thrust Knobs
The Altitude Adjuster Thrust Knobs are designed to lock the altitude component of mount’s polar axis in
place, without changing the position of the azimuth axis. (Adjusting either axis during polar alignment for
some commercial mounts can be a frustrating trial and error process when trying to clamp down on one
axis actually moves the position of the other.)
Make sure to completely loosen each knob (four on the Paramount ME II and two on the Paramount MX
and Paramount MX+) before attempting to rotate the Altitude Adjuster.
Wedge
The integrated Paramount wedge allows the altitude of the mount’s polar axis to be adjusted to match
the celestial pole. The table below shows the minimum and maximum elevation for each model. Software
Bisque manufactures and sells a Paramount Latitude Adjustment wedges if astronomy takes you outside
these latitudes.
