Resetting the Unit and Restoring Communication
You can reset the unit in one of four ways:
Reset it from the Control menu.
Cycle the power.
Reset the configuration options for the COM port, or reload the factory default
settings.
Set the appropriate MIB object from NMS (see your NMS documentation).
The unit performs a self-test when it is reset.
Resetting the Unit from the Control Menu
Use this procedure to initiate a reset and power-on self-test of the unit.
Procedure
To reset the unit from the Control menu:
1. From the Main Menu screen, select Control.
2. Select Reset Device and press Enter. The
Are You Sure?
prompt appears.
3. Type y (Yes) and press Enter. The unit reinitializes itself, performing a self-test.
Resetting the Unit By Cycling the Power
Disconnecting, then reconnecting the power cord resets the unit.
