Dual Ferrite Choke Installation Instructions

Overview
This document describes the procedure for installing two ferrite chokes onto an RS-232 (V.24) cable.
CAUTION
All supplied ferrite chokes must be installed following these
instructions to ensure compliance with regulatory rules.
Installation
Use Figure 1 and the following procedure to install two ferrite chokes onto one cable.
1. Open the first ferrite choke and place it around the cable as close to the cable connector as possible.
Ferrite chokes must be installed on RS-232 (V.24) cables that attach directly to the carrier.
2. Close the two halves around the cable and snap the choke shut, pressing down on the plastic latch to
secure it in place.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the second ferrite choke.
4. Add a tie wrap as shown to prevent the ferrite chokes from slipping down the cable.
