Configuration
Overview
The BitStorm 2400 is accessed by StormTracker EMS or another SNMP-based
system. It is designed to require minimal provisioning before it can be accessed by
a Network Operations Center (NOC).
Initial configuration is performed using the asynchronous terminal interface. The
terminal interface is available from the terminal or PC you connected to the
CRAFT DCE Null Modem Adapter port on the front panel. The IP address is
obtained via the terminal interface configuration. The IP address is then used to
access the web interface.
CAUTION:
Assigning IP addresses through both the Out-of-Band (MGMT)
and
In-Band (via GigE and CRAFT) ports is not recommended. Determine
which port best suits the needs of your network, then proceed with that
port.
See the
for detailed information about the terminal
and the web interface.
Conventions Used
In this book, the Enter key refers to the key you use to submit data to your terminal
or PC. It may be called the Return key on older devices. Characters displayed on
your screen, including those you type, are shown in the
Courier
font in this book.
