Installation Inspection
This chapter describes the inspections needed to ensure installations of WSN Gateway
devices are correct and functioning properly.
General Inspection
Inspections ensure installations are correct and WSN Gateway devices communicate
with SynapSense Web Console™.
Inspect Operations and Appearance
1. Verify all installed WSN Gateway devices are connected properly (AC Power
Adapter, Ethernet Cable, etc.) and receiving power.
2. Verify WSN Gateway devices are installed in areas in which there is a clear line of
sight for wireless sensor’s radio transmissions.
3. Verify Ethernet cables and AC Power Adapter wires are secured where needed.
Inspect Software Communication
Perform the following steps to confirm Gateway operations and communications. Refer
to the Web Console User Guide for detailed information.
1. Access the SynapSoft Web Console software and select the appropriate data cen-
ter from the Sites list.
2. Click the Floorplan tab in the Data Center section.
3. Select the “fly out” navigation pane on the right and click Wireless Sensor Network.
4. Select the appropriate settings for the network as needed (Network: and Hop
Level: drop-down lists, and associated check boxes).
