ENAMEL HOODS
The enamelling on the hoods is applied using a system with epoxy baked at 200º. It is both exceptionally
tough and extremely long-lasting. However, the use of certain products for cleaning and maintenance can
serious harm to its properties.
The best option for cleaning the OUTSIDE of the hood is to use a standard neutral grease-removing soapy
solution and then rinse it off with a damp cloth. DO NOT USE SCOURING PADS as they can scratch the
enamel; instead use soft cloths or sponges. Avoid soaking the hood with water during washing as the joints
are not watertight. This could over time lead to the beginning of a rusting process.
Should you opt for other cleaning products, we always recommend that these be non-abrasive to enamel
and
FREE FROM SILICON, AMMONIAC, SODA AND DERIVATES OF THESE.
STAINLESS STEEL HOODS
To clean and care for steel, proceed in the same way as for enamel hoods, applying a neutral soapy solution
with a cloth and then rinsing with another, damp cloth. After drying the hood, simply apply Pando Stainless
Steel Cleaner to even out the different degrees of shininess or darker patches which may be left after
cleaning and give it a flawless, regular finish.
Using ACID, SODA, AMMONIAC, CHLORIDE or DERIVED products for cleaning is ESPECIALLY
HARMFUL to stainless steel.
All of them can destroy the chemical features of steel, causing partial or total rusting, black spots, patches
of varying shininess and so on.
Special care should be taken with acids (nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, bleaches, etc.), as in some cases the
product need not even be applied straight onto the steel, but just the fumes or vapour given off by the acid
can stick to the sheeting and cause the type of damage described above.
On models featuring a Sec System tray, this tray must not be dismantled or removed from the hood
for cleaning. It is cleaned from the outside only.
5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:
5.1 CLEANING THE HOOD:
Careful maintenance will ensure the appliance works properly and performs well over time.
WARNING: Whenever the extractor hood is to be opened up for work or cleaning (by authorised,
qualified personnel), the appliance must be disconnected from the mains as a precaution. To do this,
the power point where it is plugged in must be accessible.
If the instructions for cleaning the hood and for changing and cleaning the filters are not followed there may
be a risk of fire. We therefore strongly advise you to pay attention to the instructions below.
