HDMI Interface
The OMAP4460 Pandaboard ES provides a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) via an
industry-standard Type A connector at location P2. The interface is provided using the internal HDMI
module provided by the OMAP4460. See Figure 7 for a block diagram of the Pandaboard ES HDMI
circuitry. This interface includes a Texas Instruments TPD12S015A HDMI Port Protection/Interface
device. The high-speed differential clock and data lines are connected straight from OMAP to the ESD
protection device, to the connector, so that any ESD event experienced at the connector will be absorbed
before damaging the OMAP4460 device I/Os.
