Focus, Brightness (Exposure) and

Using AF
AF (Auto Focus) refers to automatic focusing.
Select the focus mode and the AF mode appropriate for the subject and scene.

Set the focus mode lever to [AFS/AFF] or
[AFC].

to select AF Mode and then press
[MENU/SET].
• The AF Mode will be set.

Press the shutter button halfway.
• AF will be activated.
• The focus indication is displayed as [
] in a dark environment, and focusing may take
longer than usual.
• If the camera detects stars in the night sky after displaying [
], Starlight AF will be
activated. When focus is achieved, the focus indication [
] and AF areas in focus are
displayed. (Starlight AF cannot perform detection on the edges of the screen.)
