3-3-5 User selection and password settings
In online mode, you can select between two user roles “Restricted user” or “Administrator”.
If you have configured the password on the “System settings” screen, you are required to enter the password when you log
in as an “Administrator”.
As “Administrator” you have access to all screens and settings. As “Restricted user” the access to screens and settings is
restricted. The parameters allowed to edit can be configured in the “System settings” screen in advance.

• The password protection of this configuration software is designed for the purpose to prevent a wrong configuration or
unintended operation. You cannot use this password for security purpose.

• In offline mode, the user is fixed to “Administrator”.
• The available screens of Laser Marker NAVI smart vary depending on the user role and operating mode. Refer to “3-3-2
• When setting the laser marking system using the optional touch panel console or a commercially available monitor, you
can edit only items that permitted to “Restricted user”.
Configure permissions for the restricted user
1.
Establish an online connection between your PC and the laser marking system.
2.
Go to the “System settings” screen.
3.
Select “Access permissions” tab and configure the permissions.
• Set the password for administrator.
• Add or remove a permission to edit parameters with the “Restricted user” profile.

Select “Apply to laser marking system” on the left side of the ribbon. The
password and permissions will be updated in the laser marking system.
