2-5 Expansion board installation
This section describes the procedure for installing the expansion board to the laser marker controller.
When the expansion board is installed to the controller, the following functions can be used.
• Connect a console or a commercially available monitor to the laser marker and use it for monitoring and setting during
operation.
WARNING
• Installation must be conducted with the power to the laser marker turned OFF,
and the AC power cable disconnected. Doing so may cause exposure to the
laser beam or electrical shock.
• Do not insert your hands or objects to the exhaust port of each unit or the
gaps between units during the installation. This may result in injuries, electrical
shock, or failure of the laser marker.

Turn OFF the key switch of the controller, and disconnect the AC power cable.

Loosen the following
screws and remove
the side panel of the
controller.

Remove the lid from the case at a location to which the
expansion board is installed. Remove the lid by pulling it
toward you with a ▼ marked portion kept pressed.

• Before the maintenance work, always discharge the static
electricity by touching the grounded metal objects, etc.
Static electricity can damage electrical components inside
controller.
• Do not touch any other devices on the circuit board.

Disconnect the two types of cables that are connected inside
the case.
