21.2 Specify the East Asian character set
To use East Asian characters in character objects and bar code/2D code objects, specify the
character set in the “File settings” tab.
• Go to the “Marking settings” screen and select “File settings”.
• For “East Asian characters”, select “Japanese” (default setting) or “Simplified Chinese”.
‒ Japanese and Simplified Chinese characters cannot be used together in one file.
‒ If “Japanese” is set, JIS fonts are used for the non-alphanumeric characters (file
number J1 and J2).
‒ If “Simplified Chinese” is set, GB fonts are used for the non-alphanumeric characters
(file number GB1 and GB2).
• You can change the default setting for East Asian characters under “System settings” >
“Operation/information” > “Advanced system settings” > “Default setting for East Asian
characters”.

21.3 Configure trigger parameters
Specify the trigger delay and the trigger mode settings for the trigger input TRIGGER IN of
the TERMINAL connector.
