WPA-PSK: Use WPA
®
(Wi-Fi Protected Access) pre-shared key.

algorithm:
Through negotiation with the access point, TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) or AES
(Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm is used.
•
pre-shared key:
Enter a key in ASCII format. The length of the key can be between 8 to 63 characters.

WPA2-PSK: Use WPA2 pre-shared key.
We recommend to use WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK because they are more secure.

After wireless configurations are completed, click Save and the KX-NTV150 will reboot. Wait for the
live image to be reloaded to your browser. You have to unplug the power and Ethernet cables from the
KX-NTV150; then re-plug the power cable to the KX-NTV150. The KX-NTV150 will switch to wireless
mode.

Some invalid settings may cause the system to fail to respond. Change the configuration settings only
if necessary and consult with your network supervisor or experienced users for correct settings. Once
the system has lost contact, please refer to Maintenance on page 56 for reset and restore procedures.
2.11 Security
2.11.1 User accounts
This section explains how to enable password protection and create multiple accounts.
Root password
The administrator account name is "root", which is permanent and cannot be deleted. If you want to add more
accounts in the Manage User column, please apply the password for the "root" account first.

Type the password identically in both text boxes, and then click Save to enable password protection.

A window will be prompted for authentication; type the correct user’s name and password in their respective
fields to access the KX-NTV150/KX-NTV160.
