15.4 SFTP Public Key Authentication
In order to use key authentication with SFTP and push scan, you need to create a key with the scanner, and
then register the public key with the SFTP server.
How to create the key for SFTP
1.
Launch Configuration Web.

For details, refer to "12.1 Launch Configuration Web" (page 93).
2.
Open the [Server] tab.
3.
Click [FTP].
4.
In "Key List", click [Edit].
5.
Click the icon (
).
6.
Specify "Name"(up to 15 characters) and "Type" (RSA(1024bit) / RSA(1536bit) / RSA(2048bit) /
RSA(3072bit)).
7.
Click [Submit].

A private key and public key are created in the unit.
8.
Click [Export] and save the public key file with the browser.

Register the public key with the SFTP server.
Note
•
To change the key, delete the current key and create a new one.
•
Security can be strengthened by increasing the key length, but transmission speed will be reduced. If
transmission speed is slow, reduce the key length.
