AVCHD format
This is a standard format for recording and playing back high-
definition motion pictures.
DVD-Video format
A format that can be played on most DVD players.
Scene
This means the motion picture recorded during one recording
(after starting recording until it is stopped).
Project
The term “project” is used to refer to a video production edited
by combining scenes and still pictures using the motion picture
editing functions of this software.
Top menu
A feature for displaying an interface similar to a table of contents
when a disc is played. (Top menu is not displayed on video
cameras. Top menus are only displayed on devices that support
this feature.)
SD cards
In these instructions, SD memory cards, SDHC memory cards
and SDXC memory cards are collectively referred to as SD
cards.
Terms
1080/60p or 1080/50p motion picture
These are high-definition motion pictures that have a high picture
quality and were recorded in 1080/60p or 1080/50p format. They
can be played back with this software and with playback devices
that are compatible with 1080/60p or 1080/50p format.
The terms vary depending on the TV system of your video
camera.

This is the standard format for high-definition motion pictures.
iFrame motion picture
This is the standard format for playing back and editing motion
pictures on a Macintosh computer. MP4 motion pictures contain
iFrame motion pictures recorded with a video camera that this
software accompanied.
Not compatible with AVCHD standard, as it uses a different
recording format.
MP4 motion picture
This is the format for MP4 standard (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format)
motion pictures.
Not compatible with AVCHD standard, as it uses a different
recording format.
MPEG2 motion picture
This is a widely used standard picture quality format for motion
pictures.
BD format
This is a standard format for recording and playing back high-
definition motion pictures on Blu-ray discs.
