2 Installation and operation
2.1 Installation and operation flow
2.2 Determine installation location and number of HD-PLC adaptors
Determine the installation location of the PLC adaptor from the wiring system diagram etc.
•
Determine the location and the number of PLC adaptors to be installed.
• For the installation interval of the PLC adaptor, use the distance 200 m as a guide.
However, the communication distance varies depending on the power line to be used and
the wiring conditions.
2.3 Parameter setting
•
Once you have decided the installation location and the number, set the parameters in
advance.
• Set the parameters using the Setting Tool.
• The parameters to be set are as follows.

Login ID / Password

Device name

Mode (Master/Terminal)

Shared key for authentication,
IP address, subnet mask, default gateway

The device name is required to identify the PLC adaptor on various tools.
When the PLC adaptor connection status is displayed on the tool, which place is installed
in order to identify, we recommend setting a name that makes it easy to infer the installation
location for the device name.
• The Setting Tool can read various parameters from the Excel sheet.
It is convenient to set up beforehand on the Excel sheet and then perform the setting work.
• When using this PLC adaptor, it is necessary to set the IP address in advance.
There are two kinds of setting methods as follows.

DHCP mode
Prepare the DHCP server and automatically assign the IP address.
The set IP address can be referenced from the Setting Tool

Auto IP mode
The Setting Tool will automatically assign the IP address. When using this function,
due to the processing time of the tool, you may wait for about 3 minutes.
The set IP address can be referenced from the Setting Tool.

It is recommended that both DHCP mode and Auto IP mode are disabled after setting the IP
address. If you use either of them with valid settings, the IP address may change.
