Chapter 4 Shooting — Adjustable settings when shooting
Area mode function
You can perform the following operations by displaying the area frame with the control stick.

Area auto focus function
Auto focus operation is performed within the area selected with the area frame.

Area auto iris function
The iris value is adjusted automatically within the area selected with the area frame.

Area brightness display
The luminance level of the center of the selected area frame is displayed.
Operation function settings
Set the operations to be assigned to the area mode function from the main menu.

Select the desired function in the main menu

[INHIBIT]:
Does not assign a function.

[FOCUS]:
Area focus function and area focus bar function

[IRIS]:
Area iris function
f
[Y GET]:
Area brightness display

[FOCUS/IRIS]:
Simultaneous operation of area focus function/area iris function, and area focus bar function
f
[FOCUS/Y GET]:
Simultaneous operation of area focus function/area brightness display, and area focus bar function
Operation of area mode function
The function set in the main menu

[SW MODE]

[AREA MODE] can be used by performing the following operation when shooting or while in
shooting standby.

Press the control stick.
f
An area frame (white) is displayed.

Press the control stick upward/downward/to the left/to the right to move the area frame to a desired position.

Press the control stick.
f
The area frame color changes from white to yellow.
f
When the yellow frame is displayed, the function set for [AREA MODE] can be operated in the area frame.
f
While the function is activated, [AREA] is displayed on the right of the display.
f
When the area brightness display is activated, the brightness display in the center does not operate.

Press the control stick for two seconds or longer.
f
The area frame disappears and the camera exits the area mode function.
