Congratulations on your purchase of Sol-Mate
®
Floating
Light. Please read these operating instructions thoroughly
before use. It is important for proper use of the product.
The Sol-Mate
®
Floating Light offers gentle illumination to
your water garden and adds a wonderful glow to your pool,
birdbath, or even across your landscape.
WARNING
!
Do not use indoors. Only use outdoors.
!
!
Do not leave the unit outdoors in extreme weather
conditions. Temperatures below freezing can damage the
unit.
!
!
Ensure the unit is closed and sealed securely before
placing in water.
!
!
Only use NiMH batteries in unit. Other battery types may
leak or explode. Do not use Carbon or Alkaline batteries.
!
!
Do not use the unit where it can interfere with pool or pond
filtration equipment.
!
!
Do not use the unit where it can interfere with the safe
ingress or egress to swimming areas.
!
!
Do not use the unit in any pool where diving is permitted.
!
!
Do not allow unit to travel into boating areas.
!
Use:
•
Unit is shipped with battery in place.
•
Allow unit to fully charge before first use. Leave unit in
direct sunlight for at least two sunny days. Leave switch
in OFF position (button out) (factory default position).
•
When ready to use unit push switch to ON position
(button in).
•
Place unit in water.
•
Unit will charge when exposed to sunlight. Do not place
unit in the shade or it will not recharge.
•
If desired, anchor unit using anchor mount on base.
Make sure rising tides or changing water levels will not
flood unit. Damage may occur.
•
LED Lamp will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off
at dawn. Strong ambient light will prevent lamp from
turning on.
Battery
•
Unit is supplied with a quality 900 mAh Nickel Metal
Hydride (NiMH) AA cell battery.
•
Fully charged battery will yield up to 10 hours of light.
•
Battery will charge when unit is exposed to sunlight.
Strong direct sunlight will charge the battery faster.
•
Battery is designed for up to 500 charge cycles. If you
note reduced battery performance replace battery.
•
Replace battery by unscrewing 3 phillips-head screws
in base. Replace battery as specified below.
•
Re-attach base ensuring battery is in position and
rubber seal is in place.
•
Ensure screws are tight or damage may occur. Do not
over-tighten.
•
Use only NiMH battery cells. Do not use Alkaline,
Lithium, or Lithium Ion batteries. Incorrect batteries may
leak or explode.
•
NiMH batteries with less capacity than 900 mAh will
yield shorter illumination times. You may use batteries
with higher than 900 mAh capacity but the extra
capacity will not be utilized.
•
Ensure battery polarity is correct.
NOTE: Unit will charge battery regardless of switch
position. ON/OFF switch only controls LED lamp. LED
lamp will not illuminate when ambient light is too high.

WARRANTY
P3 INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION ("P3") warrants to the original retail purchaser only, that its
product is free from defects in material or workmanship under the condition of normal use and
service for a period of six (6) months from the date of purchase. In the event that a defect,
malfunction or failure occurs or is discovered during the warranty period, P3 will repair or replace at
its option the product or component part(s) which shall appear in the reasonable judgment of P3 to
be defective or not to factory specifications. A product requiring service is to be returned to P3
along with the sales receipt or other proof of purchase acceptable to P3 and a statement describing
the defect or malfunction. All transportation costs shall be borne by the owner and the risk of loss
shall be upon the party initiating the transportation. All items repaired or replaced thereunder shall
be subjected to the same limited warranty for a period of six (6) months from the day P3 ships the
repaired or replaced product. The warranty does not apply to any product that has been subject to
misuse, tampering, neglect, or accident or as a result of unauthorized alterations or repairs to the
product. This warranty is void if the serial number (if any) has been removed, altered, or defaced.
This warranty is in lieu of all warranties expressed or implied, including the implied warranties of
merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose which are expressly excluded or disclaimed. P3
shall not be responsible for consequential, incidental or other damages, and P3 expressly excludes
and disclaims liability for any damages resulting from the use, operation, improper application,
malfunction or defeat of any P3 product covered by this limited warranty. P3's obligation is strictly
and exclusively limited to the replacement or repair of any defective product or component part(s).
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the
above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. P3 does not assume or authorize anyone to
assume for it any other obligation whatsoever. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an
implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. It is the owner/user's
responsibility to comply with local, state, or federal regulations, if any, that may pertain to P3
products or their use. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights which vary from state to state.
