Adjusting the skid shoes
The distance between the skid shoes and the ground can be
adjusted. See Figure 33.
On smooth and even surfaces such as asphalt and paving, the
skid shoes are raised to clear the snow as close to the surface
as possible.
On uneven ground and gravel areas, the skid shoes are
lowered to between the middle and lowest position to raise the machine. This is done
to avoid gravel and the like getting into the machine.
Procedure to adjust the skid shoes:
1.
Loosen the four hexagon nuts (two on each side) and bolts. Move the skid shoes to the
desired position.
2.
Make sure the entire lower surface of the skid shoe is against the ground to avoid uneven
wear on the skid shoes.
3.
Retighten the nuts and bolts.
Adjusting the discharge chute bracket
If the spiral at the bottom of the chute's direction control is not
fully engaged with the chute, the bracket can be adjusted. To do
so:
1.
Loosen the two nuts securing the brackets and adjust slightly.
2.
Tighten the nuts. See Figure 34
