Safety instructions
Responsibility of the owner
It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that the earth auger is correctly
assembled and is used correctly.
•
Read the manual and follow the safety instructions.
•
Follow the assembly instructions carefully.
•
Maintain the earth auger in accordance with the instructions and the intervals in the
manual.
•
Ensure that other people who are to use the earth auger are familiar with its functions
and the safety instructions.
Important references
The manual contains important information on safety, potential mechanical damage
and on operation and servicing. Read the information thoroughly to avoid personal
injury and damage to the earth auger.
Important precautions
Read this section very thoroughly. Only use the earth auger in accordance with the
instructions and the recommendations. Everybody who uses the earth auger must
read the instructions and familiarise themselves with its functions.
This symbol indicates that the information is important and if it is not
taken into consideration your personal safety may be put at risk. Read and
follow the instructions in the manual before using the earth auger.
•
Never carry the earth auger from one hole to another with the motor running.
•
The drill must not revolve when the earth auger is idling, if it does, there is a fault and
the earth auger needs to be inspected.
•
Always keep hands, feet, hair and loose-fitting clothes away from the moving parts of
the motor and the earth auger.
•
Do not allow children to use the earth auger. Do not allow anybody to use the earth
auger without thorough instruction.
•
Do not use the earth auger if you have consumed alcohol or drugs.
•
Keep all screws, nuts and bolts well-tightened.
•
The motor should be shut down and allowed to cool down and the spark plug lead
removed from the spark plug before any type of repair is begun.
•
The temperature of the exhaust silencer can exceed 65
o
C. Avoid touching these areas.
•
Never allow the motor to run indoors or in a closed area. The exhaust contains carbon
monoxide, an odourless gas that is lethal.
