Operation
1.
As the engine warms op, gradually open the choke
lever (Fig. 8).
2.
Accelerate quickly
: Move the speed control lever
from LOW to HIGH. When the engine speed
reaches 2300–2600 rpm, engage the centrifugal
clutch. Increasing the engine speed too slowly can
impede the clutch’s ability to engage (Figures 9 and
10).
Low oil alarm
The system is designed to prevent engine damage
caused by insufficient oil in the crankcase. The
system automatically stops the engine if the oil
level in the crankcase falls below a certain level.
(The engine switch will still be set at ON.)
Note
If the engine stops and cannot be restarted,
check the motor-oil level.
3.
If the compactor is used to compact asphalt, it is
advisable to coat the underneath surface of the
base plate with a layer of diesel oil. This will prevent
asphalt sticking to the plate.
4.
Decelerate quickly
: To switch off the plate
compactor, move the speed control lever from HIGH to LOW. Do not do this too slowly.
