Before putting the compactor into operation
1.1.
Make sure to remove dirt, mud, etc., from the machine before putting it into
operation. Be particularly meticulous with the underneath surface of the base plate
and areas around the engine air intake,
carburettor and air filter.
1.2.
Check and tighten all nuts and bolts as required.
Loose nuts and bolts can damage the compactor.
1.3.
Check the tensioning of the drive belt. Normally,
pressing hard on the middle of the belt between
the two discs should cause it to give way by 10–
15 mm. A loose drive belt can damage the
compactor.
1.4.
Check the motor oil level and replenish if necessary. Use motor oil type SAE SAE 30,
15W-40 or 10W-40.
1.5.
Make sure that the plate compactor is standing on a level surface when checking the
motor oil. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level on the dipstick. The oil should
be flush with the oil plug. It is advisable to change the motor oil every month or after
200 operating hours.
