Instructions for Use
General information:
The compactor is best suited for compacting asphalt or loose material such as soil,
gravel or sand or combinations of these materials. Slippery soil such as mud and clay
is best compacted using a trench rammer.
If possible, smooth and level out the work area before starting the compaction
process.
The material’s moisture content is essential for good compaction results. Water serves
as a lubricant which helps compress the particles. If the material is dry, compaction
will be inadequate. Compacting overly wet material, on the other hand, will create
water-filled voids that weaken the bearing capacity of the material.
Use pure lead-free petrol and make sure the petrol is uncontaminated.
The compactor's eccentric vibrations create a self-spiralling movement. Position the
handle opposite the vibrator.
Start the engine using the recoil starter. If the engine is equipped with an on/off
button, this must be set in the ON position before using the recoil starter.
Increase the engine rpm on the throttle before starting the compaction process.
Firmly grip the compactor handle with both hands and slightly hold back against the
forward motion of the compactor. If there are any problems with the compactor’s
forward or reverse motion, this can be adjusted on the throttle-control cable. The
compactor is steered by moving the handle to the right or left side.
Always make sure to have firm footing to avoid slipping or losing control of the
compactor when starting or using the compactor.
