Assembly
Use the drawing on the next page to guide you through the assembly of the machine.
Lay out all the parts on a clean surface before you start, to get an overview of all the
components to be used for the assembly.
1.
Attach one base section (11) to the left post and lower cross member (17) using bolts
(16), washers (13), lock washers (14) and nuts (15), then attach another to right post
and the lower cross member.
2.
Fix one end of knighthead (10) to the base section (11) and another end to the post (5)
using bolts (9), washer (06), lock washers (7) and nuts (8).
3.
Put the press frame in an upright position, attach one upper cross beam (29) to left
and right posts (5) using bolts (4), washers (3), lock washers (2) and nuts (1).
4.
Put another upper crossbeam into position and insert the under plate (18) to the two
upper crossbeams at the same time, then secure this crossbeam to the posts using
bolts (4), washers (3), lock washer (2) and nuts (1)
5.
Screw the upper round nut onto the ram (28), insert the ram into the hole in the under
plate (18), then screw the under round nut onto the ram and attach the serrated
saddle to the ram.
6.
Insert bed frame pin (22) into the holes in the posts, then insert the joined press bed
frame (21) into press frame and onto the bed frame pin.
7.
Attach the pump assy (23) to the right post using bolts (19), washers (6), lock washers
(7) and nuts (8), then insert the handle to the handle bracket.
8.
Connect the hydraulic hose fitting (34) to the connection nut (33) and assemble the
pressure gauge (27) to the pressure gauge connection nut which is on the top of ram
(28).
9.
Tighten all bolts and screws.
Before first use
1.
Before first use of this product, purge away air from the hydraulic system: open the
release valve by turning it counterclockwise. Pump several full strokes to eliminate any
air in the system.
2.
If it is possible, we recommend bolting the shop press to the floor.
