C: Tent tarpaulin
Do not fit the tent tarpaulin in windy weather!
However, a light breeze can be an advantage, especially if the wind direction is
optimal. If possible, pull the tent tarpaulin up over the arches, so that the wind coming
in under the tent tarpaulin will be helpful.
If required, mark the middle of the roof tarpaulin on the interior side, so that the
tarpaulin is positioned precisely in the middle of the tent hall when it is pulled over
the rafters.
Assemble the tubes that are to be pushed inside the tent tarpaulin first. See Fig 5.
Roll the tent tarpaulin out in front of the tent hall and align the tarpaulin so that the
width is correct. Now pull the tarpaulin straight over the arches. Ensure that the
tarpaulin is
not
pulled too forcefully; otherwise it may tear and break. It may be
necessary to lift the tent tarpaulin over the first arch, if required, use a brush or
similar. Once the tent tarpaulin has been pulled over the tube frame and aligned
properly, place the tubes in the pocket of the tent tarpaulin and lightly tighten. Now
check that the tent tarpaulin hangs correctly in the corners. It can now be tightened
(part no. 20).
Make sure that the tent tarpaulin extends out by the same length at both ends
.
With the flaps flipped over, you can gain access to tie the tent tarpaulin securely to the
arches using the supplied rope. This must be cut to suitable lengths.
It is recommended that you pull the rope through all of the holes from the bottom
and up to the top. Next, tighten from the top, evenly on both sides until you reach the
bottom again.
Lash both ends before tightening to avoid the tarpaulin being pulled off on one end.
Lastly, tighten using the relevant tensioning strap. Arch for arch.
