Before use
Before use, the spreader must be ‘calibrated’. The spreader is designed to spread
artificial fertiliser, sand and salt.
The spreading width is dependent on the speed and can be 1–6 m, depending on the
type and moisture content of the granulate. It may be necessary to carry out some
spreading trial runs on a measured area to determine the speed and setting for the
machine.
The amount of material can be adjusted by changing the discharge damper’s opening.
The spreading direction is set by turning the damper to the side. This determines
whether the spreader spreads more or less to the right or to the left.
You can also set the wings on the disc to different angles - you will need a tool to do
this.
It is important that the machine is level (the hopper is level) while being used. This can
be adjusted at the drawbar. The drawbar can be set to several different settings, all
depending on the positioning of the tow coupling.
Use
Adjust the speed in accordance with the condition of the terrain. It is important to
keep to a constant speed at all times. Varying driving speed will change the spreading
width.
•
NB: Pay attention to the ground conditions when driving with a full spreader.
•
Keep observers at a safe distance.
•
Never move a full spreader around unless it is coupled to a towing vehicle.
•
Always stop the engine and engage the handbrake before working on the
vehicle.
•
Never remove the guards.
•
Tighten the bolts and screws before use.
When the spreader is not being used to spread, the pin at the drive axle must be
removed, so that the gearbox does not run.
