Using the winch
Once the winch has been safely installed on your vehicle and correctly connected, you
can use it to carry out the task at hand.
Park the vehicle in neutral gear next to the item that is to be winched (it is important
that you do not winch at an oblique angle).
Engage the handbrake.
Let the engine run in idle during the winch to prevent the battery from losing power.
Slacken the wire using the remote control.
To be able to pull the wire out by hand, the wire brake must be loosened. Turn the
handle that is positioned on the gear housing to loosen the brake and pull the wire
out and secure the hook to the item that is to be winched. NB: Never completely
unwind the wire – there should always be approximately five windings left on the reel
when you begin to winch.
Re-tighten the wire brake (turn the handle the other way).
Drawl the wire in using the remote control.
Once the item has reached the desired position, slacken the wire using the remote
control.
Remove the hook from the item and wind the wire completely around the reel.
NB: The winch is NOT designed for continuous use. We recommend that you only
load the winch for a maximum of 30 seconds at a time, and allow the winch to rest for
two minutes in order to cool down before you start the next winch.
