15.2 Exchanging a light tube
You can exchange the Light tube without removing the top of the enclosure. However, we recom-
mended that you first familiarize yourself with the system by removing the top cover at least once
so that you are certain of the location of the components involved.
1. Remove your sample from the scanner.
2. Lower the cantilever holder.

Rotate the Engage Control Knob counter-clockwise
to lower the tip to a close distance (~1 mm) above
the top of the scanner. This enables easy access to
the top of the head assembly where the light tube is
located.

For safety reasons we recommend making motor
moves with the door closed.

3. Turn the ARC2 controller power off.
This shuts off most of the instrument's power. You need not disconnect the motor power sup-
ply when exchanging the light tube assembly.
