Align the fuel cock with the portable fuel
tank position.
5.
Send fuel to the carburetor by squeezing
the primer pump repeatedly, with the ar-
row pointing up, until you feel it become
firm. While the engine is running, make
sure to keep the portable fuel tank hori-
zontal. Otherwise, fuel cannot be drawn
from the fuel tank.
Starting engine
WARNING
Before starting the engine, make sure that
the boat is tightly moored and that you can
steer clear of any obstructions. Be sure
there are no swimmers in the water near
you.
Manual start
WARNING
Failure to attached engine shut-off cord
could result in a runaway boat if opera-
tor is ejected. Attach the engine shut-off
cord to a secure place on your clothing,
or your arm or leg while operating. Do
not attach the cord to clothing that
could tear loose. Do not route the cord
where it could become entangled, pre-
venting it from functioning.
Avoid accidentally pulling the cord dur-
ing normal operation. Loss of engine
power means the loss of most steering
control. Also, without engine power, the
