Control Mode 3: AutoControl
Requires: 1 electrode or
1 linear transducer or
1 switch
The hand closes at maximum speed and grasps an object with the minimal amount of grip force (10 N).
If the sensor recognises that the object is slipping, it automatically increases the grip force up to the
maximum (130 N), as necessary.
FlexiGrip becomes active when a 130 N force is applied when moving an object within the hand. Once the
object has been repositioned, the SensorHand Speed reverts to the previous grip force.
Control with one electrode
Opening:
At maximum speed with a quick, constant muscle signal to the electrode.
Closing:
At maximum speed by quick relaxation of muscle.
Stopping:
By
very slow muscle relaxation to the electrode, the hand stops in an opened position.
Example 1: After opening the hand, the patient very slowly relaxes the muscle.
The opening position remains unchanged.
Example 2: After opening the hand, the patient relaxes the muscle at maximum speed. The hand automati-
cally closes at maximum speed and begins to grasp the object with 10 N grip force.
If the sensor recognises that the object is slipping, it automatically increases the grip force up
to the maximum (130 N), as necessary.
Control Mode 3: AutoControl: One electrode
Opening
Closing
Quick, sustained myo-signal to the electrode.
Opening speed
Constant 300 mm/s
Very slow muscle relaxation to the electrode:
Hand stops in open position.
Quick muscle relaxation to the electrode:
Hand closes.
Closing speed
Constant 300 mm/s
Initial grip force
Auto-Grasp grip force increase
FlexiGrip function
10 N
Up to 130 N
Effective at maximum grip force
Control with one linear transducer
Opening:
At maximum speed by a quick pull on the linear transducer.
Closing:
At maximum speed by quick release of the linear transducer.
Stopping:
By
very slow release of the linear transducer, the hand stops in an opened position.
Example 1: After opening the hand, the patient very slowly releases the linear transducer.
The opening position remains unchanged.
Example 2: After opening the hand, the patient releases the linear transducer at maximum speed.
The hand automatically closes at maximum speed and begins to grasp the object with 10 N
grip force.
If the sensor recognises that the object is slipping, it automatically increases the grip force up
to the maximum (130 N), as necessary.
