7.16 Additional options
The product may be equipped with additional options.
The options are firmly mounted to the product by qualified personnel or the manufacturer and are pre-adjusted by
qualified personnel at delivery.

Never rest heavy objects on the backrest when it is folded in.

When transporting the wheelchair in vehicles, fold it up and remove the wheels and leg supports if necessary.

Follow the IATA (International Air Transport Association) rules and those of the relevant airline when trans
porting the wheelchair in an aircraft. Inform the airline several days before your flight. Use the SSR (special
service request) codes to describe the type of limited mobility if necessary. You can for example research
these on the Internet.
The wheelchair must be prepared for transport in a passenger vehicle.
1) Single-panel foot plate: Fold up and swing away the foot plate to the side (see fig. 7, see fig. 14).
Segmented foot plate: Fold up both sections (see fig. 8).
INFORMATION: For the Avantgarde DV the leg supports can also be removed, thus further reducing
the packing size (see Page 16).
2) Remove the seat cushion.

Only with "drive wheel for one-handed operation" option:
Before folding, remove the telescoping rod (see
Page 26).
4) Pull up the seat upholstery until the wheelchair folds together (see fig. 64).
5) Fasten the safety strap (see fig. 65).
6) Insert four fingers between the spokes of the drive wheel and press the knob of the quick-release axle with your
thumb. Pull off the drive wheel outwards (see fig. 4).
