3.1.1 Installation Preparation for Sockets Made of ThermoLyn
The enclosed vacuum forming dummy (5) provides for that the lower screw
ring is flush on the inner side of the socket.
• Soak 99B25 Nylon Stockinette with 85F1 Plaster Parting Agent and pull
it over the plaster positive.
• Secure the vacuum forming dummy to the plaster positive with the en-
closed 503S3 Screw (Fig. 2).
3.1.2 Completion of a Test Socket
• After vacuum forming of the test socket of ThermoLyn, grind away the
material covering the vacuum forming dummy until it is flush (Fig. 3).
• Remove the 503S3 Screw and vacuum forming dummy.
• Remove the vacuum connector and apply 617H46 Bonding Agent to the
contact surface of the lower screw ring if need be (Fig. 4). Position the
lower screw ring in the socket (Fig. 5). Tighten the upper screw ring. The pin
wrench can be used for tightening the lower and upper screw rings (Fig. 6).
3.1.3 Completion of a Flexible Inner Socket with Carbon Frame
The enclosed lamination dummy (6) provides for the space required for the
upper screw ring in the laminated socket.
• After vacuum forming of the definitive inner socket of ThermoLyn, grind away
the material covering the vacuum forming dummy until it is flush (Fig. 3).
• Remove the 503S3 Screw.
• Put the lamination dummy onto the vacuum forming dummy and secure
with the enclosed countersunk head screw (Fig. 7). The 5Z1 Lamination
Kit with the aid of the Technical Information 2.3.5 or the 5Z4 Lamination
Kit for CAT-CAM can be used for reinforcement of the frame.
• After laminating, grind away the material covering the lamination dummy
until it is flush and remove the countersunk head screw.
• Remove the carbon frame with inner socket from the plaster positive.
• Remove the vacuum connector and apply 617H46 Bonding Agent to
the contact surface of the lower screw ring if need be (Fig. 4). Position
the lower screw ring in the socket (Fig. 5). Tighten the upper screw ring.
The pin wrench can be used for tightening the lower and upper screw
rings (Fig. 6).
