Calibration
Before starting the test the Otoport will calibrate the levels of the tones
which are to be used in the test. This is necessary to account for the
acoustic properties of the patient’s ear canal. If the required levels cannot
be reached then the Otoport will display the message
Unable to calibrate.
Check probefit
and then it will return to the checkfit screen.
Note:
The calibration method used for DP stimuli above 5kHz has
been enhanced from firmware version 1.14.0.0 onwards. If
necessary for comparison with old recorded data, the Otoport
software can be switched to use the old calibration method
using the test config area of Otolink (see
Otolink User Manual
,
Otoport Configuration
chapter). We do not recommend
permanently setting the Otoport to the old calibration method, as
dBSPL values will be less accurate.
