4.
INSTALLATION
This section is dedicated to the battery charger installation.
Even though the equipment installation is far from being complicated it is advisable
to read all the given recommendations before proceeding.
4.1
PRELIMINARY CONDITIONS
All the battery charger models introduced in this manual are suitable for being
installed in indoor environments such as radio rooms.
Since the equipment described in this manual belongs to Class I, according to the
EN 60950 IV
th
edition, the electrical system of the room where the battery charger
is to be installed must be grounded.
The room has also to guarantee a sufficient ventilation and it must have a climatic
environment consistent with the battery charger operating temperature (see tab.
1.3).
It is necessary to have a clear smooth surface where you can place the device.
The supply plug of the room in which to install the battery charger must guarantee
an easy access.
4.2
PROCEDURE
This chapter is about the procedure to install the device.
There will be make use of pictures in order to have an easier understanding.
1.
Place the battery charger body on a plain smooth surface (see fig. 4.1).
2.
Plug into the battery charger the power supply cable (2, fig. 4.1)

Valid only for the BCU2-1500/B and BCU6-750 models: set the 230 V / 115 V
voltage by the proper switch according to the voltage available in the room
(see fig. 4.2) (skip this passage when using all other models).
4.
Insert the other end of the power supply cable in the wall plug in the room.
5.
Insert a switched off PUMA T2 radio terminal in the charging slot to verify the
correct installation (see fig. 4.3).
