6.1.3 Chassis Slot Power Indicators
If the unit is in Hot-Plug mode (default factory setting) then the orange Power Off LEDs found between the slots and chassis will be lit. They
indicate lack of power at the respective PCIe slot. This would be a normal condition if the chassis is powered on while the Host system is turned
off (RESET state) or if power to a specific slot has been removed for it to be swapped as part of the
Hot-Plug procedure
.
If the Host system is turned ON but there is no PCIe card in the slot, the Power Off LED will be ON.
If the unit is
NOT
in Hot-Plug mode, the orange LED’s should be all off.
If a slot has a card in it and the respective orange LED turns on that means there was a power fault in that slot. If that is the case, one needs to
follow appropriate procedure to power down the host and then power down the chassis. If the problem persists, check with the card
manufacturer if it requires more than 8 Amps of current at any time. Otherwise contact OSS Technical support.
6.1.4 Chassis Linkup and Activity Indicators:
These indicators were purposely made visible at the back of the chassis in order to allow a quick verification of connectivity between Host and
chassis.
