Maximum Shock Tolerance 20 g. An accelerometer inside the instrument tracks the maximum
shock to which the Detective-EX has been subjected, and a shock in excess of 20 g will void the
warranty.
Ambient Operating Environment 0 to +40°C, at a relative humidity <90% at 35°C, non-
condensing.
Input Power 10 V to 17 V dc 30 W or from auto-sensing ac-powered battery charger.
External Power DC input and battery charge input, MS3112E12-10-S or Bendix PT02E-
12-10S connector.
Internal Battery Rechargeable, nominal 14.4-V lithium-ion battery pack. Contact ORTEC for
the appropriate replacement kit. Charging circuitry and battery management circuitry internal to
the docking station or PAC-II. Battery lifetime 3–5 years. Access door in right side panel of
case. The compartment is semi-sealed and protects against penetration of dirt and moisture. See
Chapter 10 for instructions on replacing the battery.
Battery Life >3 hours at 25°C when HPGe detector is cold. Battery life can be extended indefi-
nitely by the use of optional, external battery belt. The unit is expected to be kept running once
cold.
