Protection functions. Description and settings
4.23. Power protection
4.23.1. General
From the current and voltage measurements, the protection
calculates the active and reactive power and the power
factor, and according to those values, it carries out some
protection functions indicated below. The trip thresholds
are programmed in percentage relation to the nominal
apparent power, S = 3 * V * I, being:
V: simple nominal voltage (phase-earth) programmed in
“general settings”
I: in FW versions before “Q”: 5 A
This setting is the Console, in the Power protection screen
as, “Power Nominal Current (A)”, and in the keyboard/display
in the “POWER PROT.” menu as “POWER NOM. CURENT”. It
affects only to the power protections.
In case of programming
1 A, although the physical possibility of programming the
minimum ranges as 1 % exists, the effective minimum range
is 2.5 %, as there is a minimum current threshold established
in 25 mA.
4.23.2. Minimum power protection
General description
It protects against excessive decreases in the generated power
and it compares the active power with the minimum power
given by the setting. If the generated power is lower than the
set value, the protection will trip the corresponding relay.
Any reverse power will be considered below the minimum
power threshold, so it will operate this protection.

General description
The tripping power is set in % of the rated power, which is
defined by the set value for the rated voltage and by the
protection’s rated current.
If the additional time is programmed as 0 the trip will
happen in 35 ms. If an additional time is programmed, this
time is added to the afore mentioned time.
