Setting the Impedance Switch
Count the number of speakers you’re con-
necting the volume control to, and if they’re
4ohm or 8ohm.
• Check the specifications in your amplifier
or receiver owner’s manual (or on the back
of the amplifier) to determine if it can sup-
port an 8ohm or 4ohm speaker load.
• Set the impedance switch to the correct
setting using the
chart to the right:
• On all volume con-
trols in the system,
set the impedance
match jumper to
the same position.
It’s not recommend-
ed to install more
than 8 volume controls in parallel. It’s also
recommended to use additional impedance
protection when installing more than two
8ohm speakers per channel on each volume
control.
Mounting the enclosure
• If conduit is going to be used, run the wiring
through the conduit and into the opening
at the base of the enclosure.
• Using the appropriate adhesive material,
mount the enclosure into the PVC conduit.
• Secure the enclosure to a stationary object
in the wall using the four holes in the back.
Wiring
• Strip ¼ to ½ inches (6 to 12 mm) of the in-
sulation off the connection cables. To avoid
stray strands, twist them at the end. Twist
the input wires with the volume control in-
put wires. (Make sure all cables are consis-
tent with polarity.)
• Run the output cables from the amplifier to
the volume control’s input wires.
• run the cables from the volume control’s
output to the speaker’s input.
Install volume control in the enclosure
• Put volume control into the enclosure.
• For the OV100, place cover plate over the
enclosure ensuring that the plastic rubber
gasket is in place behind the cover plate.
Place the control knob on the volume con-
trol.
