It is beyond the scope of this manual to describe how to set up external
SHOUTcast2 and Icecast2 servers that the Optimod can drive. As of June

The Optimod’s SHOUTcast2 and Icecast2 servers run one audio stream to
the external SHOUTcast2 and Icecast2 servers. Connecting to these exter-
nal servers requires specifying all settings in the Optimod’s

. The only difference for the configuration is
that the SHOUTcast2 servers only support MPEG Layer 3, not Opus.


Updating the Streaming Server’s Firmware
From time to time, Orban may make available updates to the streaming server’s
firmware. Note that updating the streaming server requires running a dedicated ap-
plication on a Windows 10 computer. The normal Optimod firmware update process
(see
Updating your 8700i’s Software on page 2-72) will not update the streaming
server.
