Configuring the Appliance for the First Time

This section contains first-time configuration procedures for the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance.

Follow these steps to complete first-time configuration:

1. Ensure you have completed cabling, including the serial or network cabling for Oracle

ILOM connectivity, as described in

“Cabling the Appliance” on page 171

2. Configure the system through Oracle ILOM. See

“Configuring the System” on page 184

Note -

After system configuration, a network device and its associated datalink and

interface are automatically created with administrative access. You can add interfaces,

and add or change administrative access to other interfaces during and after initial

configuration.

3. Complete initial configuration using the browser user interface (BUI), which is strongly

recommended for clustered controllers, or the command line interface (CLI):
