Avoiding Electrostatic Discharge While Working
on the Back of the Server

1. Power off the server.

Section 1.2, “Controlling Server Power” on page 1-2

2. Open the back section of the cover.

.

3. Attach one end of the antistatic strap to the grounding stud located on the

partition inside the server, and the other end to your wrist.
