For each installed tape drive, connect the interface cable (FC or SAS) to the tape
drive interface port. Attach a label indicating the tape drive position in the module
and port to ensure proper connection after a servicing the drive.
Note:
The interface port is located on the left side of the drive tray assembly
(as viewed from the rear of the library).
Connect the Network Port
The network ports provide communication to external applications and a connection to
the BUI.
There are two Ethernet network ports on the rear of the Base Module. Always use
shielded Ethernet cables to connect the library.
1.
Locate the NET MGT area of the Base Module (above the power supply and left of
the Module Output ports).

Insert the Ethernet cable plug in the top ports, designated with a 1 and 2 on the
chassis. The ports used depend on your LME configuration.
3.
Attach a label to the cable indicating the network port to ensure proper connection
after servicing the library.

Gather cable slack to the outside edge of the Expansion Module, if necessary.
2.
Wrap the hook and loop strap around the cables and cords.
3.
Stow excess cord and cable length into the cavity between the rack stile and the
side cover.
Unlock the Robot
Unlock the robot before operating the library.
The robot is locked during shipment to prevent damage. You must unlock it before
operating the library. Locate the robot lock on the back of the Base Module. Follow the
instructions that match your lock type:
