Power Off the Server or Domain (Oracle ILOM)

2.

Save any open files and stop programs that are running on the server or affected

domain.

Refer to your application documentation for specific information for these processes.

3.

Shut down all logical domains.

Refer to the Oracle VM Server for SPARC system administration documentation (

http://www.

oracle.com/goto/vm-sparc/docs

) for details.

4.

Shut down the Oracle Solaris OS.

Refer to the Oracle Solaris administration documentation for details.

5.

Power off the server or domain.

Power Off the Server or Domain (Oracle ILOM)

You can use the SP to perform a graceful shutdown of the system. This type of shutdown

ensures that all of your data is saved and that the system is ready for restart.

Refer to the 

SPARC M8 and SPARC M7 Servers Administration Guide

 for additional

information about powering off the system.

1.

Prepare to power off the server.

See 

“Prepare to Power Off the Server or Domain” on page 69

.

2.

Log in as superuser or equivalent.

Depending on the type of problem, you might want to view system status or log files. You also

might want to run diagnostics before you shut down the system.

3.

Switch from the system console to the Oracle ILOM prompt by typing the
