7. 2 Overview of Hardware - to - Hardware Connection Function
The hardware - to - hardware connection function is used to increase the number of input channels for measurement
temporarily by connecting multiple units of DS - 5000 series Data Station using the hardware connection cables for
synchronization and the LAN cables for communication.
Up to five units of DS
- 5000 series Data Station can be connected. For example, you can connect two units of
DS - 5000 having six channels and use as a system having 12 channels temporarily.
The maximum number of input channels for a system configured through the hardware - to - hardware connection is
240. You can connect multiple units of DS - 5000 series Data Station having different channel numbers.

7. 3. 1 About Hardware Connection Cable
Connect OUTs and INs of the hardware connection cable AX - 9055/ 9056 for synchronization and the LAN cable for
communication in a manner matched with each other between hardware units.
■ Hardware Connection Cable
Connect the SYNC IN terminal on a DS - 5100 Main Unit with the SYNC OUT terminal on another DS - 5100 Main Unit
using the DS - 5000 dedicated cable AX - 9055 ( 3 m) or AX - 9056 ( 10 m) .
