Communication with the Host
Flow Charts
When the Serial Interface is used for both Input and Output
Commands for the V530-R160 are written to the Read Area in the programmable controller. The
V530-R160 automatically reads these commands and executes them.
Reading results are written to the programmable controller.
Checks Read Area
for a command.
The rest of the operation is
not performed if the command
format is incorrect.

A timeout error occurs if there is no response within 5 seconds and it is assumed that the line is bro-
ken or the programmable controller is not working correctly. An error message is displayed on the
screen and the ERR signal of the parallel I/O interface is turned ON.
If there is a problem using this serial interface specification, communicate using the no-proto-
col format.
