5-4 Encoder Dividing
The number of pulses can be set for the encoder signals output from the Servo Drive.
The number of pulses per Servomotor rotation can be set within a range of 1 to 2,500 pulses/
rotation.
Use this function for the following applications:
When using a controller with a low response frequency.
When it is desirable to set a pulse rate that is easily divisible.
Example:
To use a resolution of 5
µ
m/pulse in a mechanical system in which one Servomotor rotation
corresponds to a travel of 10 mm, set the encoder dividing rate to 2,000 pulses/rotation.

Rate Setting
Set the number of encoder pulses to be output from the Servo
Drive for each rotation. The default setting is 2,500 pulses/ro-
tation.
The setting can be made from 1 to 16,384 pulses/rotation, but
the setting will not be valid if it exceeds 2,500 pulses/rotation.
Even if the dividing rate is changed, there will always be 1
pulse per rotation for phase Z.
